If I had this pink typewriter, I would seriously use it. My Mom is the only person I know that still owns (and uses) a typewriter, which I think is quite endearing. She understands the importance of perfectly spaced blocked lettering on forms and envelopes, while the rest of the world is looking at me like I'm a nut. I know we can now achieve the same thing with a computer, but it's just not the same. There's just something charming about using a typewriter.
While writing this blog, I actually found another blog that "heartily endorses typewriters" among other things that are now considered archaic. The writer states, "There is something very natural and ingrained about the hesitating action of the backspace key, the smooth return of the carriage, the ringing bell." I think me and this person would get along very well.

I threw away a working typewriter because I can no longer find an ink ribbon for it.
Yeah, that's the only problem with typewriters - trying to find ink ribbons! But I still think they make a good decoration piece, especially if you can find one in a fun, vintage color as shown above.
