Outfit Of The Day: Groves of Palm

What I'm Wearing:
Groves of Palm Dress by Maeve
Woven Slip In Belt by Forever 21
Flats by Dolce Vita
I bought this dress many many years ago from Anthropologie, but have actually only worn it a few times. I love the colors and patterns, but it's just so stretchy! This dress is a size 0, but it could probably stretch out enough to fit someone who is a size 4 or 6. Because of its stretchiness, I find myself constantly having to pull it up, so it's not the most comfortable dress to wear. But I felt like wearing something very bright and springy today and this dress definitely fit the bill. And the best part - it has pockets!

Outfit Of The Day: Head to Toe in Pilcro

What I'm Wearing:
Ribboned Collar Top
Stet Slim Ankle Cords
Bow Trinket Flats
All by Pilcro

Pilcro is probably one of my favorite brands. Every time I'm in Anthropologie and I spot something that I think is cute, I pick it up and realize that once again, it's by Pilcro. Everything they make is just so cute and whimsy. Today was just one of those days that I happened to be wearing head-to-toe Pilcro, but only coincidentally. I knew I wanted to wear this top today, but I didn't want to pair it with jeans because I didn't feel like wearing blue-on-blue. So I thought, "Perfect! I'll wear my yellow cords!" I thought the two paired very well together. And just to add a little pop of color, I wore my bright orange Pilcro flats. Have you ever worn a single brand from head to toe? Or do you always try to mix-n-match?

Outfit Of The Day: "Stars" and Stripes

What I'm Wearing:
Top by J. Crew
Seeing Spots Shorts by Daughters of the Liberation
Shoes by Toms

I recently purchased this striped top from the sale rack at J. Crew. It was marked down to $29.99 (originally $45) and they were having an additional 30% off sale. I still thought, "Hmm, $21? Is that too much to pay for a simple cotton tee?" But my husband thought it looked really cute on me and I really liked the stripes and color combo. Plus, it was an xxs. I joked to my husband and said, "This vanity sizing is great! I feel so good about myself right now!" You see, I've NEVER been able to fit into a J. Crew size xxs, even in my skinniest of days. So I was delighted to see that I was able to wear this top quite comfortably. I know in all actuality I'm not really this size, but whatever. A girl can dream right? And on top of all this, they let me use my 15% teacher discount in addition to the 30%, which they've never let me do before, bringing my grand total for this self-esteem-boosting top to $18. Not bad for a J. Crew top.

Deletta Cloudrose Dress

Cloudrose Dress by Deletta
On sale $79.95 (originally $158)
www.anthropologie.com

Item: Cloudrose Dress by Deletta
Size: XS
Price: $79.95
Overall Rating: 5/5

I found this lovely dress on a recent trip to the Anthro sale rack. First of all, I absolutely love the colors and the pattern of this dress. If you can't really tell what it is, the name of the dress says it all. It's SUPER comfortable and so easy to slip on. It's a thick enough material that you wouldn't have to wear a slip underneath and the neckline of the dress is not too low-cut so no need for layering up top either. The ruching is really flattering and the bottom part drapes nicely - not clingy at all. I think this dress could work with all types of shoes, but I think either sandals or espadrilles would look best.

Postmark Carolinae Top

Carolinae Top by Postmark
On sale $49.95 (originally $88)
www.anthropologie.com

Item: Carolinae Top
Size: 2
Price: $49.95
Overall Rating: 3/5

I really love the colors and print of this top. It's such a pretty, spring blouse and I've been looking forward to it going on sale for a while now. So when it finally hit the sale racks Tuesday, I headed on over to my local Anthro to try it on. The smallest I could find was a size 2, but I could have definitely sized down to a 0. I do like billowy tops, but this was a bit too boxy for me. In the stock photo above, it looks a bit more fitted around the waist and it appears to be longer. In real life though, it was very roomy (most likely because I was wearing one size too big) and very cropped. I would definitely have to wear this with higher-waisted pants or at least a camisole underneath, and I'm not sure how that would look. Also, when I turned to the side, the back looked a bit longer than the front, which I thought was kind of unusual. I really wanted to like this blouse, and maybe would have if I'd found it in a size 0, but it just wasn't for me. It was too boxy and too cropped for my taste. But I still really love the floral pattern and the combination of the green, coral, and cream is just so pretty.

Bordeaux Side Tucked Tee

Side Tucked Tee by Bordeaux
$58
www.anthropologie.com

Item: Side Tucked Tee by Bordeaux
Color: Green
Size: XS
Price: $58
Overall Rating: 5/5

Oh, how I love this tee. It's so comfy and flattering. I'm always drawn to tops that have ruching or interesting layering (or how my husband calls it: "drapey stuff"). I think it's a great length, a nice thickness, and it's not too low-cut that you'd have to wear a camisole underneath. You can dress it down with jeans or even dress it up with a skirt. I think this is the perfect top.

Fashion Bucket List

I was inspired a few weeks ago by Kathryn of In Pursuit of Pretty Things to write a fashion bucket list - a list of all the things I hope to one day own. Here's what's on mine:

1. Chanel classic quilted purse

Large Flap Bag by Chanel
Approximately $3500
www.chanel.com

I've visited several Chanel boutiques just to ogle this purse. From what I can remember, the price for this particular style is about $3500. I've contemplated teaching summer school and just using that money to put towards the purchase of this handbag. The sad part - the money I would earn from teaching summer school wouldn't even be enough to cover the cost of this purse.

2. Christian Louboutin heels

Rolando Hidden-Platform Pump by Christian Louboutin
$745
www.neimanmarcus.com

A part of me wants a simple, classic pair of Christian Louboutins such as these. I mean let's face it, this would probably be the only time I would ever spend this much money on a single pair of shoes and it better be a pair that I can wear over and over again. But a part of me also wouldn't mind a pair like these.

3. Burberry coat

Classic Cotton Trench Coat by Burberry
$995
www.burberry.com

The most important thing I'll be looking for when I finally get to purchase a Burberry coat is the signature plaid on the back of the collar. I dunno - I just love little details like that.

4. Louis Vuitton suitcase

Alzer 75 Suitcase by Louis Vuitton
$7200
www.louisvuitton.com

I'm not sure if I would even use this suitcase for traveling. I just think it's too pretty to check in at the airport or stuff into one of those overhead compartments. Instead, I'd probably just use this as a decoration piece in my house, maybe fill it with mementos or pictures (I know, very practical).

5. Herve Leger bandage dress

Martina V-Neck Bandage Dress by Herve Leger
$1350
www.bcbg.com

I love the sexy silhouette of the Herve Leger bandage dresses. They seem to be the most universally flattering dress. They're like Spanx and a dress all in one.

What about you? What's on your Fashion Bucket List? Already bit the bullet and purchased something off your list?

Stealing Penguins

My Mom sent me this video a few weeks back. It's pretty hilarious. And I thought penguins were just these cute, innocent animals...

Toms Alessandra Burlap Ballet Flats

Alessandra Burlap Ballet Flats by Toms
$79
www.toms.com

I love these ballet flats by Toms! They are so cute and the black/tan color combo makes them easy to pair with many different outfits. I hear they run a bit large though, so make sure to try these on first before you buy!
