Orla Kiely SS19: Linear Stem

The Linear Stem in Liquorice first debuted in Fall/Winter 2015, but there are a few new changes to this collection. First up is the Holmes Baby Backpack, which includes a lot of nice features you would expect from a baby bag - large interior space, changing mat, and two side exterior pockets ideal for holding bottles. I love this design and have been looking for a new baby bag and this one could also double up as a gym bag.

The Small Enough Crossbody is also a nice update from the Travel Pouch - there is a larger depth and it also has an adjustable strap, convenient for when you want to wear the bag shorter on your shoulder or longer as a crossbody.

And lastly, there's the addition of the Handy Pouch, which would make a nice pencil case or catchall for your purse.

Orla Kiely SS19: Flower Tile

The SS19 Flower Tile print is available in a Duck Egg colorway of blues and greens (wouldn't this make an awesome backsplash or even tiles for a bathroom floor?!) These pieces are made of textured vinyl with a grey Twin Stem print lining, with leather trims on the handbags.

Orla Kiely for Danone Light & Free Yogurt Part 2

Danone Light and Free Pomaberry Yogurt

Orla Kiely has once again teamed up with Danone Light & Free Yogurt (see last year's debut here). Her Sunset Flower print is seen on their Fab Fig n' Honey yogurt in a pink and purple colorway that coordinates nicely with the featured fruit. These adorable cups of yogurt are available in 4-packs and can be purchased at Tesco stores. 

Meet Orla Kiely at Dovecot Studios

Orla Kiely's A Life in Pattern exhibition is currently being held at Dovecot Studios through June 2019, and now you can meet the designer herself when she partners with John Lewis stylists to talk about interior design. The event will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Tickets are £16.58 and are available for purchase here, which includes entry into the exhibition as well as a time following the event to get posters and books signed by Orla Kiely. 

What an amazing event this will be! I would be SO thrilled for the opportunity to meet my all-time favorite designer, but unfortunately will not be able to attend this event as it is in Edinburgh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though, that the exhibit will make its way to the US soon, along with a meet-and-greet with Orla Kiely herself!

The I Heart Orla Kiely print made its debut today! This collection features four pieces in a black nylon water-resistant finish with leather accents and of course, the adorable I Heart OK design with a rainbow background. I am so in love with this collection and I want every piece!

If I had to pick a favorite from this collection it would have to be the Rhona Crossbody. I had been looking forward to this bag since I saw it in the Autumn/Winter 2018 Lookbook and I'm so glad it's finally available. I love the updated adjustable leather strap, which is also removable so you can wear it as a clutch as shown in the product shots below.

This I Heart OK design was actually made for the AW18 collection, but was never released due to the company's temporary closing. But now it looks like this print will finally make its long-awaited debut soon! I honestly can't think of a bag that suits me more than this one :)

I love Orla Kiely's playful name for their cabin case collection - Orlaboard! There are currently six styles available, which come in a matte coated cotton canvas, textured vinyl (my favorite for travel pieces!), or water resistant fabric.

Orla Kiely's newest addition to her bag collection is the Sprig Stem print, available in a khaki and navy colorway. These polyester bags feature a water-resistant finish and are reversible so you can choose to wear them with the print facing out, or change it if you prefer a solid color.

Probably my favorite piece from this collection is the All-In - Backpack. I'd been on the lookout for a new diaper bag that is larger than Orla Kiely's previous backpack totes, which is what I'm currently using but it doesn't always seem to fit everything I need for my kids when I'm out and about. So this bag looks ideal, and its water-resistant polyester finish makes it durable and kid-friendly.

Boxer - Small Holdall

Another favorite from this collection would have to be the Boxer - Small Holdall, which I would use as a gym bag. Once again, I'm currently using an OK backpack tote as my gym bag, but it's always so completely stuffed that I'm afraid the zipper will break someday. This holdall, however, looks like it will fit everything I need to work out.

New Orla Kiely Cushions at Hurn and Hurn

 New Orla Kiely cushions have arrived at Hurn and Hurn! These pillows are soooo pretty and even though they are available in a variety of colors and prints, they all seem to coordinate well together. A couple of the styles are 100% cotton, while the others are a polyester/viscose/cotton blend. They range in size from 45 to 50 cm squares, and according to the product info, there is a zip fastening so you can remove the covers for dry cleaning. Shown above are the front covers with their coordinating back designs. I am certainly in no need for new cushions, but my favorites are the Spot Flower in Tea Rose and Buttercup Stem in Persimmon.
