Haul + Review: Orla Kiely for Target Large Cars Roller Suitcase

The luggage featured here is currently on sale at Target for $143.99 (originally $179.99)! Plus, Target is offering free shipping for the holidays!

I'm finally getting around to writing about this awesome Orla Kiely suitcase from Target. Overall, I absolutely LOVE this piece and I'm looking forward to travelling with it. There are, however, some pretty negative reviews about this suitcase online, which puzzles me a bit because I don't know what people are looking for. In my opinion, the quality and craftsmanship are on par with other suitcases you'd find at the same price point. It seems well made, has plenty of storage, and features the coveted car print that's difficult to find (but will be easy to spot on the airport carousel)!

The front has one large exterior zippered compartment.

Back of the suitcase.

Side carry handle.

It is lightweight (under 10 lbs according to this tag), but it felt sturdy in my hands.

Both my husband and my mother bought me this suitcase, so that's how I ended up with two. No, I didn't keep both (although it was tempting)! This actually gave me the chance to inspect each one and decide which one I wanted to keep. That's the one major con I see with this Target line - the pattern placement is very inconsistent. You almost have to compare several to see which one you like the best, which is inconvenient if your local Target is out of stock and you have to order online.

I opted for the one on the right because the pattern is more horizontally aligned. Also, the first row of cars starts right at the top, instead of being cut off like the one on the left.

There's an Orla Kiely logo tag on the back.

Another close-up of the cars.

A retractable handle.

A top carry handle.

Double zip closure with a place for your lock.

Bottom of the suitcase with 360 degree spinner wheels.

The wheels left something to be desired from my husband. He felt they were a bit cheap and wouldn't hold up well after extended use. They are made of plastic, but seem to be fine to me. I guess only time will tell.

There's a car-printed nylon lining inside the exterior zippered compartment.

The same lining continues inside the suitcase, where there's plenty of compartments to keep your things organized.

The zippers have a navy blue faux leather pull.

This suitcase comes with a bonus shoe bag in the same material and print as the lining. It fits my size 7 shoes perfectly.

It was unraveling a bit, but that's an easy fix.

Now all I need is some place to go!

I am tempted, but I paid full price for the Missoni luggage at Target when it came out, and I can't justify buying more luggage when I don't need it!

I bought the smaller (21") size in both the cars and the stem. Now I have to decide which one to keep. I agree, there is great inconsistency between pattern placement on all of the cases- and on some of the car prints there seems to be color differences- some look quite dingy. Still, compared to Orla's own line I think it's a great value and they are super cute!

The Missoni luggage was also very nice! Never got to see any in person because it sold out so quickly where I live. I didn't need the luggage myself, but I couldn't help it! :)

Ooh, I love both! Tough decision...I'd probably lean more towards the Linear Stem Print just because it's more of an Orla Kiely classic. Or you can just keep both... :)
