The first of Orla Kiely's Spring/Summer 2017 collection has arrived! This season's newest print is called the Summer Flower and it's available in the colorways Sunshine and Sunset. Overall, I prefer the Sunset version because I think the orange and pink flowers pop a bit more.
It's been awhile since we've seen a larger version of Orla Kiely's classic shoulder bag. It reminds me a lot of one of her earlier (and probably most popular) Classic Stem print bags. I love this larger size and feel it would be great for both work and running errands.
Also available in a Mini Sling size $123
This is another design I'm really excited about. I like this version better than last season's for a couple of reasons. For one, I prefer the printed shoulder strap here to last year's cotton webbing. The front closure is also made of leather, which is a nice new detail. This bag's shape and design does remind me a lot of the Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis (a bag that will perpetually be on my luxury wish list) - functional, versatile, and with a cute top handle to boot.
I would probably actually prefer the smaller version of the satchel, but I do wish it had the top handle. And I really like the Sunshine colorway in this style.
I love these smaller wallets, but pattern placement on them is so hit-or-miss, as seen here on the Sunset version. I kinda wish they would shrink down the pattern so they would translate better to the smaller accessories.
