Haul + Review: Orla Kiely Pillows

These pillows are probably my most treasured finds from Burlington because it seems they're quite difficult to find. I've gotten quite a few emails/comments from readers saying they haven't had any luck finding pillows at their Burlington stores, but have been able to find a lot of the ceramics and dinnerware. I will say this - I've probably been to about 10-15 Burlington stores in the last two months, and I found all of these pillows in only one of those stores. And they were hidden behind other pillows. So it does require a bit of luck and careful scouring of the pillow shelves, but you may be able to find some, too! I know I mentioned I've gotten a few emails from people saying they couldn't find them, but at the same time, I've also gotten a couple emails from people who have. And I'm not sure if this will help, but here's a picture of the price tag just in case.

Yes, only $12.99 each! I thought I got a great deal when I bought the ones from Century 21 for $29.99, but this totally beats that! They originally retail for $70, a pretty insane price for pillows, so I'm glad I was able to find these for such a steal.

They are nicely stuffed and wash well. Yes, I've already had to wash a couple of mine due to my 2-year-old's sticky fingers, but the linen covers are removable and machine washable.

Something else I like about these pillows is that the Linear Stem pattern lines up perfectly on each side. I know, a little nitpicky, but still a little detail that I like and look for in all Orla Kiely items.

My living room literally only looked like this for the two minutes it took me to fluff the pillows and take these pictures. My son and husband immediately stormed the living room, and the pillows get tossed around, sat on, and squished quite often, BUT they are holding up quite well - they hold their shape nicely and are easy to fluff up. My son has gotten peanut butter and chocolate on the cream portions of the pillows and I was able to treat the stains and they came out easily in the wash. My husband and I have been looking a long time for pillows to replace our old ones, which were kind of a hodgepodge of whale-printed and geometric patterns from West Elm, Urban Outfitters, and Target, and now we have these wonderfully coordinated pillows that make us (yes, us. My husband loves them, too!) very happy.

Hi Stephanie
Absolutely love your blog and am Orla crazy as well!!!!! I am dying for a king and queen duvet for the 2 beds in my house like the ones you posted on instagram that you saw at homegoods. Is it possible for you to purchase for me and I will pay you with paypal and pay for shipping/finders fee? I sent you a few emails but perhaps they went to your junk box. Just let me know if this is possible as I have hit all the homegoods and tjs in my area to no avail!!
Thanks so much
Noelle (sorry it is my husbands account I am writing from!)

Hi, I was wondering how you spot cleaned the pillows. While I don't have food on my pillow, I do have what appears to be dirt. Did you use Shout remover or something to that effect first before washing? Thank you.

Hi! I used Oxi Clean Laundry Stain Remover and sprayed it on the spots I had on my pillows and let them sit for about a minute. Then I took a washcloth and Woolite and hand washed just the stained area in the sink and held it under water to wash out the detergent. I then wringed it out to remove excess water and hung it up to dry. Wringing it will cause a few wrinkles however, so you could iron it or lay it flat on a towel and roll up the towel to remove excess water that way instead. Hope this helps!

So far I only found two duck egg pillows at BCF. They are really hard to find. You are very lucky to find so many! :)

That's awesome! And yes, they were ridiculously hard to find. I pretty much had my whole family searching with me and we looked on every shelf and behind every pillow to find all these - many of them were hidden!
