Daughters of the Liberation Seeing Spots Shorts

Seeing Spots Shorts by Daughters of the Liberation
On sale $29.96 (originally $68)
www.anthropologie.com

I recently purchased these shorts at the Anthropologie 25% off sale. I pretty much love anything with a polkadot print. I first wanted these shorts over the summer, but thought $68 was too expensive, so I'd been waiting for a sale ever since. I went to the store the other day, and found the last size 0. I was skeptical at first because I usually wear a size 2 in bottoms, so I thought these might be too small. But they fit perfectly! So if you're considering these shorts, I think they run a bit large, so you might want to size down. They sit higher on the waist, and the length is between short-shorts and bermuda shorts. They also have pleats and a rolled hem. I used to HATE pleats in pants and shorts, but now I don't mind them so much. I actually think they add a nice, classic detail. Also, these shorts are a linen/cotton blend, which some reviewers have deemed too stiff and itchy, but I don't think they are that at all. In fact, they are quite comfortable and I think the blend makes them more durable than a standard pair of cotton shorts.

I think these shorts would look cute with a red top, cropped blazer or jacket, and some espadrilles. These shorts have the potential to be dressed up with heels and a flowy top, or dressed down with Toms shoes and a t-shirt.

Hi, I just found your blog as I was looking for short styles and I came across this post and guess what? I have these shorts and I love them except I have lost weight and they're too big for me now:(
And I love Orla Kiely too!

I've actually lost quite a bit of weight myself and now they're too big for me, too! But I still love them. Just wish there were some belts loops so I could tighten the waist. Glad to meet another Orla Kiely fan :)
