Winter Coats

Even though we're still experiencing hot Florida weather, I still get excited this time of year for the upcoming Autumn/Winter season. So I started looking online at winter coats and found three that I really liked.

Coat by H&M
$59.95

The best part about this coat is the collar - it's so different and interesting. The bow detail is adorable. Plus the grey color can go with many different outfits. Unfortunately, there is no H&M near me and they don't have online shopping available. Hopefully, John and I can make a trip to Orlando soon so I can try on this coat! Many people complain that H&M coats don't have a thick enough lining to keep you warm during the winter months, but it's perfect for Florida winters (yes, it does get cold here).

Eastward Dress Coat by Lauren Moffatt

I love the retro look of this coat and the fun detailing at the bottom. Plus, the color is so unique and pretty - definitely a great coat to brighten up an otherwise dreary, winter day. I tried this on in the store the other day in an XS and it did look a bit large on me. I know it's supposed to have an oversized, boxy shape to it, but I wanted it to fit more like the model above - I think it looks great on her - a bit more tailored than it looked on me. Also, the collar was a bit stiff and wrinkled, but that could be an easy fix. Overall, I still think it's a cute coat. I'll be waiting for a sale on this one.

Frilled Echelons Peacoat by Elevenses $148.00

As you can see, this coat comes in two different colors - Moss and Turquoise. I originally had my eye set on the Moss color, but when I saw the Turquoise color in the store, I was torn. I love the Moss color simply because it's a nice warm, fall color that can be paired with many different outfits, but the Turquoise color is so vibrant and beautiful in person. I tried this on in a size 0 and it fit perfectly - fitted (which I love) but with enough room to layer underneath. When I initially tried it on, I thought the ruffles at the bottom were a bit overwhelming, but after buttoning up the coat, it had a nice tailored look to it. I would have liked it to be just a tad bit longer, but that's not a big deal. This coat would look great with skinny jeans and tall boots. Out of all three coats, I like this one the best.

Retro is such an amazing style. It never really goes out of style, they are classics.
